The Raglan Top is a very easy, feminine woven top with gathered raglan sleeves. Rifle Paper Co. reached out to me with an inspiration image they needed crafted in to a beautiful top to showcase their new Strawberry Fields fabric collection. (swoon) Since I made my first sample as a mock up from a neutral seersucker I had laying around, this has been my go to and absolute favorite top to wear. It is designed to be made from woven fabric and it has a nice easy cut so you can just slip it on and go. It is also great in a stretch - I simply recommend you cut one size smaller than you wear. I recommend this for a confidant beginner up to an experienced sewist. In this project, you will work with hand gathering fabric for a ‘puff’. I will also introduce you to my ‘cheater bias’ - a finish that I use on almost every photo shoot I am booked on and it never fails me. I hope that you love this as much as I do and make a closet full like I am. You are going to get lots of compliments!

This is a pdf pattern designed to print in black and white on your home computer. Be sure to print to ‘actual size’ and check your scale box before you print the entire pattern. You will have written instructions that lead you step by step through your project. All of your instructions will be in plain English. Anyone can make this top!

Sizes:

xs: 34/26/34 - s: 36/28/38 - m: 38.5/30.5/40.5 - l: 42/34/44 - xl: 46/39/50 - 2x: 50/43/54

3x: 54/47/58

Fabric Suggestions: Any of the Rifle Paper Co. lightweight cotton or rayon fabrics will be gorgeous of course! I love this top in any lightweight cotton or linen. A linen blend is great because it will have a little extra drape. Rayon is wonderful for this cut. Really any lightweight non stretch will be just great.

If you go for a stretch, go one size down from your measured size. Make sure you buy appropriate stretch needles for your fabric. I recommend picking up a stretch twin needle to hem your Raglan Top if you choose a knit.

Yardages:

If your fabric is 45” wide: XS & S = 2 yards, M & L = 2.5 yards, XL - 3x = 3 yards

If your fabric is 54” wide: XS & S = 1.75 yards, M & L + 2.25 yards, XL - 3X = 2.5 yards
